Campaign Scare Tactics

First and foremost, let me state that I consider myself an independent when it comes to politics. Going into an election I stand a pretty neutral ground as to both parties views. For some people it doesn’t matter, if they say they’re republican they’re gonna vote republican. Same for some democrats. However, for someone like me, I place huge emphasis on voting solely on the facts and let me tell you, it is very hard to get an unbiased view from any source of media. It takes a lot of work and time to research and divulge into the information out there to form an opinion.

In this election, after countless hours of divulging myself into this political chaos, I can confidently say that I think Obama is the better candidate and he will get my vote. I take pride in how I came to this conclusion as well because I made an effort to educate myself. Sadly, there are millions of people out there that will be placing votes on garbage information that they received and didn’t take any effort into doing the research behind the validity of the information. Take for example this e-mail that I recently received. This was actually one of the better written ones that I have seen because it was placing a lot of questions in peoples minds and alluding to something negative, rather than flat out saying lies, like some of the other things i have read. After you read this, take a step back and realize how stupid something like this really is. I have included my sarcastic footnotes below as well…

This came to me from the wife of a friend. It is long, but very important, please take the time to read it.

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. About six months ago, I started thinking ‘where did the money come from for Obama’. I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama’s life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. ‘Barry’ (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Neither I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

By ‘chance’ he met Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association’. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented ‘Rezar’ which is Rezko’s firm. Rezko was one of Obama’s first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with ’seed money’ for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko’s wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama’s new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that were born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those ’small’ Internet campaign contributions for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he made a mistake’. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven’t all of our ‘intelligent’ members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - ‘Beware of the enemy from within’!!!

I’ll go through a bit of this and give you my thoughts…

1) Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies.

- Didn’t apply himself to his studies?? Must be how he got into Harvard Law School. Tried drugs? Wow, never heard of anyone who went to college that didn’t try drugs.

2) Had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan.

- Isn’t the United States the melting pot of the world? Does having a roomate who is from Pakistan mean something bad? Oh, I got it, are they trying to say that if you had Pakistan roomates, that must mean they are terrorists, and by association that makes you a terrorist. Watch out!

3) During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a ’round the world’ trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate’s family, then off to Africa to visit his father’s family. Where did the money come from?

- During the spring of 2005, my fiance made a trip to Granda Spain and traveled to 8 other countries while she was there. During the summer of 2008, my fiance’s sister traveled to China and traveled across the land. Where did they get the money? It’s a mystery, must have gotten it illegally. I can keep going. Do people, especially moreso college aged kids, not have a desire to travel? And on top of it someone who has heritages and family history from other places is going to want to know more about where they came from. How dare he visit his mom who was in Indonesia! If I want to visit Germany to visit my great grandma’s family, is that wrong? Will I be a Nazi? So how did he pay for this? Its called student loans. Obama has talked about this and how he had student loan debts up the ying yang.

4) It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry.

- Ricky wants to be called Richard now. Katy wants to be called Kathryn now. I go by Jerry but now want you to call me Gerard… Weird, we must be up to something!

5) Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It’s not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.

- Maybe???? Oh wait, I forgot we’re talking about Barack Obama here… the money came from terrorists, DUH!!

6) After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York.

- After college, thousands of people volunteer for the Peace Corps and make $2 an hour. Damn them for wanting to do something good for people. Yeah why did he want to move to Chicago if he was living in New York? I mean, why did I move to Long Beach, CA instead of staying in Chicago after college? Very fishy… very fishy.

7) About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans?

- After doing so many drugs and slacking off in undergrad, he must of started selling prostitutes and crack to pay for Harvard. C’mon nobody uses student loans, especially after undergrad! We need to start looking into how my fiances sister went to med school!

8 ) In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property?

- How dare he buy a home for less than asking price. Everyone these days should be buying homes for more than asking price! I bet it was hard to pay off those student loans after he made $1.2 million for his best selling book, and his wife, the vice president at the University of Chicago hospital, made $320,000 in 2005. People making that much money should be buying $200,000 homes!

9) And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on ‘This Week’ with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, ‘My Muslim faith’. When questioned, ‘he made a mistake’. Some mistake!

- Watch it in full context of what was being talked about, and make up your own mind… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpoAVAA1F30 (about 1/4 to half way into it). So stupid.

I can keep going on, but I don’t think this type of e-mail is worthy of this much time. This was clearly written to tap into people’s post 9/11 phobia. All in all, I am deeply saddened by how this election is turning out. There is still an enormous amount of prejudice, racism, and hate in this country. For me, the bottom line is that both McCain and Obama are guys that care passionatly about the United States and will do everything in their power to make things the best they can be. Vote on the issues, not this kind of bullcrap. After all is said and done, I really hope we can reunite as a country and support whoever wins this election as our leader. We have to remember, there are checks and balances in our government, its not one man running the show…
